Document what the next team will ask
Record plant rooms, shutoffs, access panels, service routes and equipment identifiers. Attach current manuals, maintenance intervals and contact details only where someone will need them. Make hidden services and any uncertainty explicit; a visual record must never be treated as proof of what is safe to drill or isolate.
Keep the record current
Use a handover step after every change: update the location, add a dated note, and retire obsolete instructions. Assign a building owner to review critical information. Without this routine, even a polished 3D model becomes stale as soon as the first fit-out or repair changes the site.
